Steve Driscoll is from Oakville, Ontario and received his BFA from OCAD University in 2002. Guided by his explorations in the Canadian wilderness, Driscoll translates his encounters into immersive and colour-saturated depictions of landscape. His work is included in museum collections including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg as well as numerous corporate collections in Canada.

Steve Driscoll’s landscapes both respect the traditional and embrace the contemporary. While landscapes have been a traditional and popular genre in painting through history, his use of industrial materials firmly bring his works into the present. With this unlikely and challenging medium, Driscoll is able to create a dazzling range of effects, emulating the dramatic light change from within the forest, to the bright blue reflected on the still water and the brightly lit trees in the background. One feels almost transported to the quiet of cottage country away from the bustle of city life.
